General Frequently Asked Questions
- How does my keeper get accepted into one of your tournaments?
We accept all keepers and players interested in trying out the keeper position! Sign up on our website and you are good to go!
Our National Championship event held in late July every year is the only event that is not open to the public and is invite-only.
To join this event you must place 1st-3rd at a National qualifying keeper wars event around the US
Fun fact we get on average 8 to 10 states of keepers coming to each of our Keeper Wars events!
Does my keeper have to wear anything specific to your Keeper Wars event?
We do not require our participants to wear anything specific to compete with us!
Represent your local team, club, gk academy, ODP team, favorite professional club, or state association! We want you to rep whoever you want!
What skill level of keepers come to these events?
Our events attract all ages and all skill levels! We have created a fun safe Keeper community to compete, connect with other keeper families, and develop in your keeper craft while playing against your peers!
Can nonkeepers join your events?
Absolutely! We do not turn players away that may want to enjoy our event and try out the keeper position! There is no set age on when someone becomes a designated keeper. Ask our US National team keeper Matt Turner who didn’t become a keeper until High School! We want anyone and everyone to try out our events!
Do I need to bring my kid's player card to the event?
Player cards are not required on sight at our events. We confirm that your player is registered with the state association before the event. If they are not registered with the state our team will reach out to you directly with what else may need to be done before the event.
National Championship FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- National Championship - When will the schedule be posted?
- About 3 days before the event. (Usually by Wednesday)
- National Championship - If my kid is turning 19 can he still compete in Keeperwars? Or is he considered non-youth now?
- Our brackets go by birth year. The oldest current birth year is 2004. In August 2023, it will be updated to 2005. (anyone that is too old for our youth tournament is welcome to participate in our adult event which usually takes place the night before our youth tournament)
- National Championship - When do parents of the second and third-place national qualifiers know if they have been selected to move forward with travel arrangements?
- Once we have completed the schedule of events that finish this year's City Tour and finalize the space available for our National Championship, we can start taking players from the waitlist. There are many moving pieces here but in short, we will let you know as soon as we can if we will be able to accept any players from our waitlist for national qualifiers.
- National Championship - What determines if 2nd and 3rd place national qualifiers gain a spot?
- The amount of 1st place national qualifiers sign up for nationals and how many spots are left to fill at our national event. The sooner 2nd and 3rd place participants register for their waitlist spot the better chance they have of joining us at nationals!
- National Championship - Do I have to stay at the arranged hotels set by Keeper Wars Ink?
- Yes, we require that you stay with our partner hotels. This is considered a “Stay and Play” tournament and it is required by our event partners who help make our events possible.
